Publisher Policy
This Publisher Policy governs all websites, apps and other properties monetized through Ad.Guru. Because nearly all demand on Ad.Guru is supplied through Google Ad Exchange (AdX) and Open Bidding, this policy is aligned with — and in addition to — Google's own policies. By monetizing with Ad.Guru you agree to comply with this policy, the Google Publisher Policies and the Google AdSense program policies. Where policies conflict, the stricter requirement applies.
1. Content requirements
Ads may not be placed on properties or content that:
- Are illegal, or promote illegal activity, goods or services;
- Contain sexually explicit or pornographic material, or content that exploits or endangers minors in any way;
- Incite hatred, promote discrimination, or contain gratuitous violence, gore or harassment;
- Are deceptive — including fake news presented as factual, misleading claims, or content that misrepresents its source or purpose;
- Distribute malware, phishing, or engage in dishonest or manipulative practices;
- Infringe intellectual property rights, including pirated or counterfeit content;
- Violate any other category of the Google Publisher Policies.
Restricted categories (such as alcohol, gambling, and health claims) may be monetized only where Google's policies permit and only in permitted geographies and formats.
2. Ad placement and behavior
- Do not modify, obscure or interfere with ads or their delivery code, and do not place ads in a way that interferes with navigation or user experience;
- Do not place ads on error pages, empty or under-construction pages, "thank you" pages, or pages whose primary purpose is displaying ads;
- Do not place ads in software, toolbars, pop-ups or pop-unders, or in emails;
- Protect users from accidental clicks: keep ads a reasonable distance from navigation, buttons and other clickable elements, and never label ads in a way that encourages clicks (such as "click here" or misleading headings);
- In apps, follow the same rules: no ads that block content without a clear close control, and interstitials only at natural breaks.
3. Invalid activity
Invalid activity is strictly prohibited and includes: clicking your own ads or asking others to click them; automated, bot or purchased traffic; artificial impressions, clicks or conversions; incentivized or reward-for-click schemes (rewarded ad formats configured through our app monetization service are the only exception); and any attempt to manipulate reporting or billing. We and our demand partners monitor traffic quality. Confirmed invalid activity can result in withheld or reversed earnings, suspension, and permanent termination.
4. Privacy and data requirements
- You must post and maintain a clear privacy policy on every monetized property that discloses: third parties (including Google) may place and read cookies and use web beacons or similar identifiers to serve ads based on prior visits, and that users can opt out of personalized advertising (see our Cookie Policy);
- Do not pass personally identifiable information (such as names, email addresses or precise location) in ad requests or to Ad.Guru or Google;
- Where the law requires consent for cookies or personalized ads — including the EEA, UK and Switzerland — you must obtain it through a Google-certified consent management platform and honor users' choices, in line with Google's EU user consent policy;
- Do not use the Service to collect information from children under 13 or build profiles of them.
5. Traffic quality
Inventory must receive genuine, organic or legitimately acquired traffic. Arbitrage, traffic exchange schemes, auto-refresh abuse, and made-for-advertising sites with little or no original content are prohibited.
6. Enforcement
We may review properties at any time. Violations can lead to ad serving being limited or disabled on a property, account suspension or termination, and forfeiture of earnings connected to the violation. Serious or repeated violations are reported to our demand partners and may affect your standing with Google.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as Google's policies and legal requirements change. It is your responsibility to check this page regularly; continued use of Ad.Guru means you accept the current policy.
